Lucid Dreaming

Lucid Dreaming – “… a dream in which the person is aware that he or she is dreaming while the dream is in progress. During lucid dreams, it is possible to exert conscious control over the dream characters and environment, as well as to perform otherwise physically impossible feats. Lucid dreams are known to be extremely real and vivid.” (www.wikipedia.com)

I think many people will agree that dreams are not a compilation of random thoughts, irrelevant to the world, and irrelevant to one’s mind. In fact, I believe many will agree with the assumption that they’ve a certain revealing aspect to them, in terms of the mind.

Well, anyway, this is not as much an informative piece on the mechanics of a lucid dream as it is a suggestion for you to try something different. Surely, many of the people reading this have had dreams; dreams that they’ve had no conscious control over. Wouldn’t it be a fantastic thing to be able to dream, and have complete control over your dream? To be able to move about in your own mind’s fantasy (what that is, I don’t want to know).

I’ve read a lot on various methods for doing so, some of which can be done by anyone. Now, these, most likely, won’t work the first time, or second time. If anything, it will take a while for you to be able to train yourself to consciously recognize when you’re dreaming, but it’s worth it. [Read more →]

Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto Is Assassinated

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto is assassinated during a opposition political rally in Pakistan.  It is amazing how this women grew to power as the first female leader of a Muslim country.  She fought for the rights of children and the Democracy of her country.  She was assassinated being shot multiple times initial reports are in the neck and the chest.  Sadly the coward assassin blew himself up including many more innocent bystanders.  My initial thoughts are to say here we go with another coward killing a political leader but my country has had a history similar to this.  We lost political leaders like Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King and even an attempt on Ronald Reagan.  This is nothing out of the ordinary in this guiltless world.  But the coward had to blow him self and others bystanders up. This is a sad day in Pakistani way of life.

The question comes to mind is who did it?  The people in the street witnessing the carnage are chanting, “Killer, Killer, Musharraf,” referring to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, Bhutto’s main political opponent.  Did he orchestrate this assassination attempt or was it the work of the Taliban, al Queda, or another extremest organization? Merry Christmas….

Have yourself a merry, merry Christmas…
Have yourself a good time…
But remember the kids who got nothin’…
While you’re drinking down your wine…

Information Vs. Entertainment

The average yearly salary of a teacher is about $45,000.
The lowest yearly pay of a professional Baseball player is about $180,000.

America obviously values education.

But, should the pay of a teacher be raised all that much?

Think about this: If a teacher’s anual salary is raised to an amount that would be considered wealthy, would the quality of our teachers go down? Would there be more people going into the profession simply for the money? People who don’t, at all, care about actually enlightening their students, and just go into the job for the pay?

Maybe a teacher’s pay being low ensures that the people who seek that profession really want the profession, and really want to teach, rather than anything involving economic gain. Someone must have to want to be a teacher to be in a classroom for eight hours a day, then have to go home and spend more time correcting papers and the like, right?

Is… that reason really good enough, though?

That same logic can then be used to justify any low-paying job. Every job in the US could lower its pay to minimum wage, and claim, “Well, we do it because we want to make sure the people we’re hiring really want the job.” – And, we all know that, that won’t ever work. There are a lot of highly paid professions that people go into because they want to. We, as a country, have hundreds of experts in many of them. [Read more →]

Jaime Lynn Spears Should Be Fired!

Let me get this off my chest.  I love Nickelodeon!  I watch their shows with my daughter and son.  I expect to see shows that entertain but do not tackle issues that I don’t want them to watch.  Right now I know its safe for them to watch that channel anytime they want.  I do not have to monitor that channel.  I do not want to start monitoring that channel. With that said have you ever watched Zoey 101?

Jaime plays the perfect teen.  She always saves the day.  Her friends always go to her for advice and she is the perfect role model.  Let the show end there!  Zoey is not pregnant so let her graduate and end the show on a high note.  I do not want my 9 year old son watching teen pregnancies.  OK I think we all agree kill that show!

Nickelodeon has said they want to do a show following her pregnancy?  What are they nuts!  Are they going to show a teen pregnancy from the eyes of a millionaire family buying nice little baby clothes shopping for the latest trendiest toys and furniture all packed up in a limo?  Or a real reality of a single teen mom going through pure hell, maybe on welfare?  [Read more →]

YBF Skincare- PREP for the Holidays, Before It’s too late!

For a limited time, you’ll receive a free, full size, PREP-for the Holidays exfoliating treatment with any YBF skincare treatment…and just why do you need to know this? Because it’s absolutely amazing, that’s why!

My favorite part of this amazing product? The directions! “Leave on for a few minutes…if you have time.” The folks at YBF (or ybf as they like to call it) know exactly what it’s like to try to timely get out of the house in the morning. I’ve used this product for almost 4 weeks now, twice per week, and the results are outstanding!

This exfoliating treatment seems to do exactly what it was designed for- remove anything from your face that you don’t want while leaving all of the good stuff behind. A light, texturtized, creamy substance, with a subtle lemon scent (all natural, I might add, with no perfumes…aka alcohol…that would dry out your skin.) A tiny portion, about the size of a pea, is all that you need, resulting in a product that will last you well into the upcoming year. [Read more →]

The Ultimate Guys Shopping Guide for Picking our Lingerie

I remember so vividly my days of working at the mall around the Christmas holidays and Valentine’s Day! I would actually spend my lunch break sitting outside of Victoria’s or Frederick’s and watch the guys inside of the store make massive attempts at buying lingerie for their significant others. The closer to the holiday, the better, for not only were the males blushing seven shades of red and giggling hysterically like teen-agers, but the essence of panic filled the air with the feeling of “need to buy immediately”.

Frantic male shoppers searching the stores for the perfect sales associate who looked the most like their female companion…”Would you rather have this or this?” followed by a “Do you gift wrap?” Ah, those were the days… But should the guy be dependant on the mere wishes of the employees of the shop? Absolutely not! Lingerie is a personal item to purchase that needs to be thought out way before the final purchase is made. In other words, don’t fly into the store and just grab anything that catches your eye for one reason or another. I’m sorry to say this, but guys—you need to think about such a purchase. So I am hereby offering some personal advice to you in order to assist you on your quest to buy the perfect lingerie for your lady this holiday.

1. Buy What She Likes, not What You Like: If your lady likes full-style, brief panties, don’t go out and buy her thongs. She will take this as you trying to change her and you’ll be sleeping on the couch for the winter, or at least until Valentine’s Day when you buy her what she likes. On the flip side of this, don’t buy her the boy-brief style if she likes thongs. She might just hate panty lines more than anything in the world, and again, you’re getting her what you like opposed to what she finds to be “her style”. [Read more →]
