What Interrorgation Techniques Are Acceptable?

Where do we begin!  The House of Representatives have passed a bill that would prohibit the CIA from using water-boarding, mock executions and other harsh interrogating methods.  What is really a harsh interrogating method. I believe it is broken down into three categories:  Democratic, Republican and Mine!

Water-boarding is the technique of  covering ones mouth with tape and pouring water over their nose to simulate drowning.  Most Democrats think its cruel but most Republicans don’t!   But how else would we get these subhumans to talk?  We can’t threaten them with dogs, hunger or even FREE medical care.  I am surprised we are not sending them to college for a free degree from my hard earned tax money.

I know it is inhuman to really torture people but do these animals who want to kill our US citizens deserve any humane treatment?  They can cut our heads off and drag bodies through their streets but we can’t make a dog bark at them?  So I needed to come up with ideas to at least put them to good use until they talk:

  • Let’s make them work in our coal mines!  Why should we have our hard working citizens risk their lives in those dangerous mines?  Here is what I purpose.  We take all coal miners now and give them free schooling and free health care and send them to college to earn degrees or trades to help them upstart a new career.  For those who want to continue to work at the coal mines make them supervisors! We can even pay these prisoners and with their hourly rate they can pay for their health care!

I know I make light of this matter but maybe we should care more about the security of our country then the feelings of people trying to eliminate us.

First of all, you are assuming that the people in Guantanamo Bay are ALL terrorists. The fact of the matter is that they are not ALL terrorists.
A lot of them were innocents just caught up in “sweeps” after 911.

The major problem is that these people have no right of Haebeus corpus-no right to a lawyer or a trial in the light of day.

As far as torture goes, it doesn’t work. John McCain is one of the strongest voices against using torture. Hell I would admit to being a terrorist if tortured and I will bet you would too but it wouldn’t make it true.

What torturing people does is make the United States look very bad and put our people in danger. The Geneva Conventions protected our people just as much as anyone else. Is it ok for Americans to be taken in a foreign country.

Am I a terrorist lover who wants to kiss them on the forehead and see them let go?? Hell no- BUT it is not the American way to deny people due process of law or to torture people no matter what they have done. We are supposed to be better than that and an example of humanity. Especially when there are innocents being held prisoner there.

This is from the US department of defense website:

” The Department of Defense announced today that it released seven detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to Afghanistan. This movement included five detainees recommended for release by the Administrative Review Board.
During the course of the war on terrorism, the department expects that there will be other transfers or releases of detainees.

There are ongoing processes to review the status of detainees. A determination about the continued detention or transfer of a detainee is based on the best information and evidence available at the time. The circumstances in which detainees are apprehended can be ambiguous, and many of the detainees are highly skilled in concealing the truth.

With this release, DoD has transferred or released 267 detainees from GTMO – 187 for release and 80 transferred to other governments, including Afghanistan, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Kuwait, Morocco, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden and Uganda.

Approximately 490 detainees remain at Guantanamo. ”

If this administration freed them, they must be pretty damned sure they were innocent and even you should agree innocent people don’t deserve to be tortured.
