A Real, Live Nightmare Before Christmas: Thanks to Priceline.com

You’ve seen the ads on TV and heard them on the radio…you know the ones…not the gnome, but with William Shatner telling you whole-heartedly that you can save a bunch of money when you buy your airline tickets on Priceline.com. What they fail to tell you is that just because you have your printed boarding passes in hand, you might not have a reservation on said flight.

And so here goes the nightmare:

Our faithful author Robyn booked a trip to Disney with her immediate and extended family as part (a large part) of their Christmas gifts. She, her husband, and their two children (ages 8 and 12) were thrilled beyond recognition at their first family trip to the most magical place on earth- DisneyWorld, Fl. They booked their trip months ago via Disney, but decided to go a different route when purchasing their airline tickets. Hoping to save a few bucks, they decided to shop online through Priceline.com. They were excited to be flying on Delta, as this airline has received several recognitions for customer service and overall good flights. Again, this trip was booked months ago. [Read more →]

If Barack Obama Was Muslim Why Should We Care?

This questions is a question that should be asked and answered by the American people.  Why should we care if Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim?  Is this not the country of free religion?  Is this the country of free speech?  Is this the country of separation of church and state?  Isn’t our three branch government designed to protect us?  The question about him being influenced by his Muslim father and Muslim Paternal Grandmother change are minds about him being able to run our country?  Has anyone thought about his experience with the Muslim Religion being able to help us with World issues today?  Thanks to Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign workers we can bring these questions out into the open.

Why should we care if Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim?  We  we shouldn’t't unless he is planning a Jihad and over throw the US Government and kill all the Infadel.  [Read more →]

Where Would the World be without “Fear” in Religion?

Since the dawn of mankind, there has always been some sort of “Fear Factor” within the day-to-day life in regards to what wasn’t known. For example, the cavemen probably thought that an erupting volcano has something to do with a higher force that they must have made angry by doing something that “The Volcano God” didn’t like. Could you just imagine living in that time, afraid to do anything? And it all came down to one, know-it-all caveman who decided that he himself knew what this deity was upset about. And since the other cave people didn’t have anything else to go on, they believed the enlightened caveman and followed his rules. This, I believe, is the basis of fear in religion- “Don’t do that or God will get mad!” [Read more →]

What Interrorgation Techniques Are Acceptable?

Where do we begin!  The House of Representatives have passed a bill that would prohibit the CIA from using water-boarding, mock executions and other harsh interrogating methods.  What is really a harsh interrogating method. I believe it is broken down into three categories:  Democratic, Republican and Mine!

Water-boarding is the technique of  covering ones mouth with tape and pouring water over their nose to simulate drowning.  Most Democrats think its cruel but most Republicans don’t!   But how else would we get these subhumans to talk?  We can’t threaten them with dogs, hunger or even FREE medical care.  I am surprised we are not sending them to college for a free degree from my hard earned tax money.  [Read more →]

Suicide

There is, no doubt, a certain inherent value in life that should not be taken lightly, but, should one impose his / her assumed value of life on another who doesn’t see life in the same light? No, this cannot be turned around and be used as justification for, say, murder, as the murderer imposes on the murdered (I’m certain, sooner or later, someone would say that).

If someone wishes to die, should we let them kill themselves? [Read more →]

Fighting Illegal Immigrant Hiring Laws?

Here is my first question.  Why am I even writing about this?  The key word is illegal!  They have no rights!

OK now you know my side of this subject. Now I will discuss the pros and cons of hiring ILLEGAL immigrants.  First lets define the word ILLEGAL: forbidden by law or statute.  I believe the discussion should end here.  But then it won’t be a blog.  So now I have to try to convince allot of Liberals that is illegal.  The reason I already defined the word ILLEGAL is liberals like to get the true meaning of word, right Bill Clinton?   Hey Bill did you ever get the definition of the word “is”.  Notice I did not use the word in the definition. OK I digress.  If you don’t know what I mean by the whole Bill  Clinton referral just think of Monica Lewinsky.

How about  [Read more →]

Does Racism Go Both Ways? How is it fair?

I don’t usually write blogs to piss people off but I have in the past debated subjects of race with a prominent leader in diversity.   I usually would bring her a subject just to get a rise out of her and we would go at it especially when it comes to schooling and what would be considered racism.  I remember one time she had an event at a local college for the incoming minorities to get together and get to know each other.  My question to her was this racism?  As a white man why couldn’t I go?

I can go on and on but she did invite me and we discussed this whole subject often.  She told me she used our chats in her teaching to college students.  She agreed that sometimes the white male is now the minority in some ways.  Is that true?  I thought that was cool!  But I always think about things like”BET black entertainment network”.  If we had a “WET White entertainment network” would it be racist? My answer “yes it would be. Is BET racist?  I think I understand why this is ok. but my question is: Isn’t there racism with this being ok for BET but not for WET?  Or is it?  [Read more →]

Hanukkah Favorite Recipes

Even though I am not Jewish I still have enjoyed some great recipes that are often used in Hanukkah celebrations.  My Grandma made potato latkes.  These things are out of this world. Here is the recipe.

Potato Latkes:

2 lbs of Potatoes

2 Large Eggs

Salt to taste

3 tablespoons of vegatable oil (for frying)

Peel the  potatoes and grate them. If you never used a mandolin this is the perfect time to try!  When you grate the potatoes put the potatoes directly into a bowl of cold water.  This will keep them from turning brown and wash away some of the starch.  Transfer the potatoes to a colander and drain as much water out as possible (squeeze the water out if needed).  Transfer the potatoes to a bowl add to eggs and salt to taste then toss. Heat oil in the pan to approximately 350 degrees and spoon mixture to make small pancakes.  Press pancakes slightly  and turn when golden brown. Serve and enjoy.
