Does God Favor Males???

God  Are “godly” attributes such as  wisdom and power linked to men?  Is this why the sacred writings of major world religions tend to favor men over women?    The sacred text of Islam stipulates that men dominate women:

  •  Men are in charge of women….Hence good women are obedient….As for those whose rebelliousness you fear, admonish them, banish them from your bed, and scourge the. (quoted in Kaufman, 1976:163).

Christianity supports patriarchy.  Although many Christians revere Mary, the mother of Jesus, the New Testament also includes the following passages:

  • A man…is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.  For man was not made from woman, but woman from man.  neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. (1Cor. 11:7-9).
  • As in all churches of the saints, the women should keep silence in the churches.  For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says, if there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home.  For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. (1 Cor. 14.33-35)

Social Responsibility Or Personal Freedom: What Is More Important?

Not to long ago an elderly gentleman at the age of 91 was not only carjacked but beat-up by his assailant.  The scary part is that there was people witnessing this horrible crime and no one intervened.  The assailant was 22 year old Deontae Edward Bradley.  Here is the story: [Read more →]

1. How Do You Put a Giraffe in a Refrigerator?

Once again, I received an email that had me cracking up beyond recognition. (Thanks, Dean!) So I decided to be late for work so that I can edit and post this! Try to be truthful to yourself and don’t read the answer until you’ve actually thought about the question a bit. Enjoy!

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

Thought for Life…

Life is short
Break the rules-
Forgive quickly
Kiss slowly
Love truly
Laugh uncontrollably
And never regret anything that made you smile.

Top 17 Things To Do In NewHampshire

I have been coming to Newhampshire since I could remember. Vacations every year up from RI was something to look forward to.  Most people think of New Hampshire as a winter wonderland with skiing and snow mobiling but I always loved the Summer and Fall.  Here is a list of my favorite things to do in no particular order here in NH:

Kancamagus Highway Kancamagus Highway:  Its a beautiful 45 minute drive though awesome mountains and vistas.  I have seen Moose there and deer.  You can stop by the rocks and take a swim in the cold mountain water.  There are plenty of trails, waterfalls and campsites.  Campsites are minimum charge but everything else is FREE!

The Basin The Basin:  A beautiful pool of crystal clear water.  It is a short hike to this awesome natural wonder but it is worth it.  Again it is FREE!  Take time to relax around it and eat a picnic.

Story Land Storyland:  I have been going there since I was a baby.  I brought my children when they was babies.  I look forward to going there when they have babies.  This place is a class act and if you cannot make Disney go there. Even their prices on food was reasonable!

Clarks trading post Clarks Trading Post: I love this place so much. They have rides, bear shows, and museums.  Get a nice ride in a train and all kinds of fun crazy other attractions.  If I have to pick one it is this one.  My wife was pregnant and got so sick in this place.  Scram You Old Goat!!!  Anyone know what that means?  Lisa don’t answer! Freaky People From My Childhood!

Sick click on this picture!

Things are different now.  Advertisers and children’s shows don’t try to scare the shit out of kids any more. Maybe in the past they loved messing with our minds or something.  Here is some freaky stuff from the 1970’2, anything bring back memories?  Give me some of your bad memories….

Hamburlar  The Hamburglar:  The hamburglar wasn’t that cute little kid thing with a smile running around stealing a hamburger in the 1970′s.  No it was a freaky, crazy, derranged sicko with an ugly face and scaring the hell out of kids.  I remember seeing him when I was little at the local McDonald’s establishment. The only one scarier was that nasty….

slim Good Body Slim Goodbody:  Oh the friggin nightmares. This freak dancing around with his body hanging all out making me dry heave teaching me about my body.  I still go to therapy about that one….

Mister moose Mister Moose:  From Captain Kangaroo…Look at his ears I always thought his ears are bleeding.  They are going to fall off…ewwww. [Read more →]

Gotta Love Drunk People….

Once again, I received an email that made me “ROFL”…(God, I hate those)…but it made me crack up all by myself…kind of like when you’re alone in a card store and read the funniest card you’ve ever seen. Anyway, a plethora of thanks goes out to sister-in-law Lorene for being so kind as to send me this:

A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on
the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger,
standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.

“Not a chance,” says the husband, “it is 3:00 in the morning!” He
slams the door and returns to bed. [Read more →]

Does Science Threaten religion?

  Religion

Galileo was denounced by the Catholic Church because he started the scientific revolution.  First he discovered some of the laws of gravity by dropping things off the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  Second creating his own telescope, he discovered the earth orbited the sun not the other way around.  The Roman Catholic Church as this time preached that the earth stood sill in the center of the universe.  Galileo basically declared that religious leaders had little to say about matters of science.

Charles Darwin’s said humanity evolved from lower life forms.  We as people evolved over millions of years contrary to the belief of The Roman Catholic Church.  He basically through out the whole book from the Bible, Genesis. [Read more →]
