Good vs. Evil

“From my point of view the Jedi are evil.”   -Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader SW. Ep. III  This line is exactly what I’m talking about.  What is good and what is evil depends on who you ask.  If you where to ask a Christian if Islam was an evil religion, the answer would be different than if you asked an Islam.  In today’s society, and human society throughout history, people try to make the world black and white.  Yet it’s not so.  The world is full of colors and shades of good and bad. For starters let’s discuss Communism.  When someone mentions this economic and government system, people automatically think of the USSR and Josef Stalin.  Well, these are actually poor examples of communism.  Here the state held supreme authority over those who inhabit it.  The state decided what you did, and Stalin was the state.  Well, let’s look at a different example.  The bees.  Bees, as well as other colony based insects, have survived for millenniums.  The species has flourished until recently, where bee populations have been plummeting.  Bees live in a communist society.  In this society each bee is equal, and serves the queen.  The bees all work, weather as gathers, builders, or other jobs.  Each one contributes to its society, and as a result the society grows and continues on.  What makes these bees happy in this state?  To be honest, it’s because they lack free will.  So here is why communism is bad for people:  we have and cherish free will.  As you can see though the communist system has helped bees survive.  So, good or evil? Moving on, the church.  Now, for all you religious folk, I am not trying to pick on a specific religion.  It has been my experience that there are those who are followers of a faith, because of faith.  They are okay.  If you want to believe something, go ahead; just don’t shove it down everyone’s throats.  The evil part of religion is the dogmatic radicals who get on T.V.  I don’t mean just Islam, because Protestantism has had enough radicals (KKK anyone?) and so has every other major religion.  The people who get on T.V. and say “Thank God for 9/11” or “God Hates Fags” or any other hate mongering slogan, they have corrupted religion.  Get rid of them and church evil. Quick recap.  Communism was believed to be bad, but it has helped colony insects survive for a long time.  That means (at least for the bugs and bug catchers) Communism is good.  Church and religion, both traditionally a good thing, well look at the darker side.  Really what this all comes down to is this:  There is no such thing as good and evil, just perception.  If you don’t think something is evil, it’s not.  If you think it is, then it is.  But you and everyone else might disagree.  So let people perceive the world as they see fit.
