From the author, DJL’s example of Conflict Theory – “Another great example is when minorities claim that they are victims and therefore are entitled to special consideration based on their race.” DJL – this cannot be used as an example of conflict theory, since conflict theory of prejudice is defined as those in power who use racism/prejudice to oppress/discriminate, significantly towards minority groups.” Unless something has changed in the last century, minority groups, especially in the U.S., have no power and unfortunately, it is not foreseen that they will ever have equality in this society. Hence, your example of affirmative action – which I found, very prejudice, is erroneous and does not apply to a group which have no power.

One man’s terrorist is another man’s hero.
This whole prejudice concept is based on point of view, for example in the early 20th century whites were extremely racist against blacks, but blacks weren’t racist against themselves. That would not make much sense , but it’s about groups working in different ways and defining common enemies or allies.
This sort of ties into culture, but one reason would be religion, i.e Germans killing jews during WW2 for being “christ-killers”.
