I Miss My Favorite Candy Bar!
Going way back when I was in grammar school I used to go down the candy lady ((nun) looked like Yoda) to buy my favorite candies of all time. The reason I am writing this is because I would love your help to make Willie Wonka make my favorite candies of all time!!!
Please Mr. Wonka, do you remember that fat little kid who would spend his 50 cent allowance on your delicious, creamy, crunchy, chocolatey, peanut-buttery gift of love called the WONKA SKRUNCH BAR? Yes that was the bar that gave me my thyroid problem (reason why I cannot lose weight) today. I remember I was like a kid in a candy store (she was a short nun) looking through all those candies she sold (small shoe box that consisted of Oompas, Scrunch bars and all the others were crap). Oh Scrunch bar you was my favorite candy in the world! I wish I had a picture of you I would post it over my fireplace! If anyone out there has a picture of this peanut-butter greatmess please send it to me!
Nestle, you own Wonka and maybe they should send me a few thousand bars to hold me over? Don’t you want to beat up on Hershey? I promise you all the money I spend on those giant Reese’s PEANUT BUTTER cups will go back to your wonderful SCRUNCH BAR!
Now this brings me to a different point. Since that little Yoda did not have SCRUNCH Bars available to me all the time I had to settle for OOMPAS (see picture above). Not those crappy fruity OOMPAS now, but the wonderful OOMPAS half peanut-butter and half chocolate surrounded by a candy shell that will melt! I say forget those Peanut Butter M&M’s(rip off of the OOMPAS that take most of my money now! I promise you Mr. Wonka I will but a whole bunch of OOMPAS if the SCRUNCH Bar is unavailable. While your at it can you send me a picture of Yoda in a nun habit? That would really make me feel like a kid again.
Is this a Conspiracy to make kids skinny by deprieving them of the GREATEST CANDY BAR OF ALL TIME?
For those of you who remember the SCRUNCH and REAL OOMPAS give me a shout out and together we will rule the world… I mean get our candy back!

Hey!! I thought I was the only one who was passionate about that AWESOME, VERY BEST candy bar ever. I was just craving one this week and would have paid big bucks to have one. None on the market now compare by a mile! The Oompas would have sufficed. Reeses Pieces are no where near as good. My!! I wonder if they would ever make them again??
DJL, I have been thinking about this candy bar for years. I tell my kids about it all the time. Everytime I bring it up to local family or friends, they all think I am nuts. Nobody remembers such a candy bar. Actually after all these years, I was starting to doubt myself…lol. For some reason this morning, I was thinking about it and happended to be by my computer. Just thought I would do a quick search, which I know I have done a few years ago, but found nothing. I was definitely glad to see your post and at least I know that now it was real…lol. I was starting to think I might have dreamed it up as a kid. The Willie Wonka Scrunch bar, by far, was the best candy bar that ever lived!
I remember the Scrunch bar. My oldest sister was getting married or newly so. I was her flower girl, at 6 years old, and she spent more time with me because of this. She would always buy me a candy bar and Scrunch was the one I would request. Here it is 30+ years later and that would still be my choice. I even sent an email to Willy Wonka a few years back to request it be brought back. Oh well! I’ve tried to substitue a Whatchmacalit (minus the caramel layer) but it just isn’t the same!
I would run, not walk to Kouba’s drug store with my allowance to get my Skrunch bar’s. There is NO close comparison available . I compare it to a mixture of kit kat, butterfinger, Boyer smoothie cup and Reeses all rolled into one delicious morsel of heaven. Now, I’M sad…no Skrunch’s for anybody….
here`s a pic of the super skrunch

LOOK HOW YUMMY THAT LOOKS!
I would walk 5 miles for a Skrunch bar.
That was my favorite candy bar too. I wish Nestle would make them. There is nothing like that Scrunch bar any where. The corner drug store always had them. I was very sad when they stopped making them and still talk about them today.
Hi there fellow scrunch lovers. Have you tried the new “Butterfinger Crisp” candy bar? I do believe it is the same as the scrunch bar!
I have tried teh Butterfinger Crisp. I don’t think it compares to the Scrunch Bar. Nothing compares.
i wish they make the scrunch bar again or at least take the caramel off of the whatchamacallit !!!!!!!!!i also miss the summit bars ……….they were delish!!!!
I miss the Skrunch bar so much!! I was addicted to them, they were sooo good. Really good frozen too. I can’t believe they won’t make them anymore. Nothing does compare. I love, love, loved them.
OMG! I have looked online for years to research the Skrunch Bar! I was like everyone else on here, I thought I must be crazy because no one remembers the BEST CANDY BAR EVER!!!
I sure wish there was a way to petition Wonka to bring it back for a limited time or something! I miss that candy! It was certainly the best!
I too loved the scrunch bar and was wondering what happened to it. The other day I found a Hershey’s Thingamajig that was almost as good and I stress “almost”…bring back the SCRUNCH BAR!!
I remember the Scrunch bar also……….I keep telling my husband about it and have been searching for it. I am sad to learn they don’t make them anymore. I have tried other bars like the whatchamallit & butterfinger crunch and they are right……….BRING BACK THE SCRUNCH BAR!!!!
You’re right. Nothing beats the Scrunch bar. People that never tried one may never know what they missed. “Snickers” and other bars can’t compare.
There is another forum that has attracted Scrunch Bar lovers from all over and as I posted there I use to make the Willie Wonka Super Scrunch Bar way back when. It was my first job out of high school. Both the Scrunch Bar and OOMPAS were made in a factory located in a suburb of St. Louis, MO (Afton, MO). The name of the company who produced the candy was called Concorde Confections and they were under contract with the Quaker Oats Company who at that time (1971-) had the license to produce the Willie Wonka Candies. It was a super clean facility and at times we produced as many as 500,000 bars a day. My job was to form the slab of rice Krispies and Peanut butter that would later be sliced and cut into bars and then enrobed in milk chocolate.
We also made Tangy Taffy and Christy Bars (they had white chocolate on the outside like a Mars Bar). The company also produced Sunline Sun Flower Seeds.
If anybody at Nestle is listening, I’m available to help bring them back! I remember it like it was yesterday.
Yes, the Scrunch Bar was the best candy bar ever!!!! I too talk about it to friends who do not remember it! I was a teenager at the time and i bought one everyday! I have been looking for it for years online. I hope they bring it back! Nothing compares to that candy bar!
