The History Of Desktop Software

  The history of desktop operating systems is a lot more complex then you might think.  I originally thought that there were a few types of systems like Apple’s operating system, DOS for windows based computers, and when I was in high school I learned on Basic computer the old TRS 80’s.  Once I began to research the history of desk top operating systems I found out there have been so many through the years.
  The first thing we need to know about operating systems is that all computers need them to run.  They are the brains of the computer and tell it what to do.  Without the operating system the computer is just nothing but hardware.  The operating system does everything from help the computer turn on to run different types of software.
