The Absurdity of the Marriage Debates
A study has recently came out that shows how unilateral divorce laws make divorce more frequent. The empirical research shows what any sensible person would already guess — easy divorce laws make for more divorces. This is only magnified by the fact the divorcing party usually has great incentives to divorce and few incentives to stay (independent of whatever marital problems may exist). The fact that this is even a debate in academia shows how politicized and irrational the academy has become. Sure, there are plenty of other reasons to divorce that also drive the high rate of marriage failures, but government incentivizes failure, not success. That certainly doesn’t help.
Add into this debate on divorce law the current debate on gay marriage. With easy divorce, marriage has been demoted to the status of a contract. If it’s [Read more →]

Vice President Cheney; Elite Power Family Say Conspiracy Theorists
Many people like to take jabs at the powers that be and for those in office they know this all too well. Recently a conspiracy theorist talking about secret societies, power elite, European royal bloodlines and such labeled the Vice President as such. Then went on to call him a war profiteer.
This is truly bothersome as the conspiracy theorist talks of Halliburton and other companies having their hand in the cookie jar of the United States Treasury. What some people do not understand is that Halliburton was already heavily involved in the middle east and already basically in-country, so who else would you trust the job to in rebuilding various parts of Iraq?
As the conspiracy theorists condemn the Cheney Family, [Read more →]

How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?” That pretty much gives you an idea as to what inception is all about. A lot of people will compare this movie to the Matrix because of some obvious similarities but Inception isn’t just another Matrix rip-off. It’s nothing really like the Matrix as this is more of a psychological thriller rather than a virtual reality cyberpunk action flick.
The film stars [Read more →]

Corinne Bailey Rae – The Sea Review
Perhaps the best way to describe Corinne Bailey Rae is “above average.” She has an above average voice, backed by above average music. Her last album, eponymously titled, was above average. So is this one. If you’re looking for greatness, look somewhere else.
However, if Rae does have a gift, it’s that she knows exactly how to take advantage of what talent she does have. She is to R&B what Nora Jones is to pop music; a moderately talented, personable singer makes very good background music.
On The Sea, Rae doesn’t drift far from her previous [Read more →]
